Of course, these results will only happen if you develop your skills in the right way and acknowledge that becoming a certified hypnotherapist doesn’t guarantee a successful career on its own.

With more and more people seeing the value in moving towards a career in this incredibly rewarding field, we’ve decided to highlight the most common traps people fall into along the way.

In this article, you’ll learn how to become a hypnotherapist, the most common mistakes people make, and how to avoid them.

How To Become a Hypnotherapist

When training to become a hypnotherapist, it’s important to choose the school that best suits your needs. This will help you to set yourself up for success and complete your training with expertise that your potential clients will have confidence in.

For a more in-depth analysis of which hypnotherapy course you should choose, visit our complete guide to choosing the best hypnotherapy certification. However, you will typically find teaching methods are divided into two styles―in-person and remote teaching.

Different people will have different needs and requirements, so research what both certification options entail before choosing your course.

In-Person Training

Some schools offer in-person, face-to-face teaching at a set location to help you gain the certification you need to become a hypnotherapist. This is an excellent option for those near a reputable hypnotherapy school or those who provide live, in-person training events.

Selecting in-person courses can offer hands-on training akin to taking a short college course. As well as this, you will also gain the opportunity to meet a fantastic support network of other budding professionals in an inspiring atmosphere.

However, not everyone lives in a location where in-person training is available nearby. And if you do, they can often be more expensive than online courses, and you may also need to factor in the time you will need to commute to your training location. Therefore, online training is also worth considering.

Become a Hypnotherapist Online

Many schools offer their curriculum on a remote basis. This is a great way to ensure course materials are accessible to everyone, and these courses are typically much more flexible and cost-effective than in-person courses.

However, you will find that not all schools offer the same quality of online training. To ensure you choose the right one for you, it’s important to choose a course that offers recognized certifications that will support your career ambitions.

You can also find training courses that combine online learning with in-person training through live events to accelerate your learning.

Introducing Marisa Peer’s RTT® School…

Marisa Peer, an internationally award-winning, qualified hypnotherapist, is the creator of her ground-breaking therapy method, Rapid Transformational Therapy® (RTT®).

RTT® combines the most effective techniques of today’s leading therapies and is available to learn online with the RTT® School. While this is predominantly an online course, Marisa and her expert team also offer live training events held in-person worldwide. Here, Marisa teaches the powerful tools and techniques she has used throughout her 30-year-career as a therapist to train budding hypnotherapists just like you.

You can learn more about RTT® here to explore whether this is the right path for you.

The Effects of Great Training―Brooklyn Dicent’s Story

After over three decades of working in hypnotherapy, multi-award-winning Marisa Peer has helped many people become amazing therapists who are now doing meaningful work worldwide.

Brooklyn Dicent is one such therapist. Aside from therapy, Brooklyn often speaks at keynote events in front of CEOs and once ended her speech with a simple and powerful phrase from Marisa’s I Am Enough message:

“You are enough.”

It got Brooklyn thinking about the way that people should approach this mindset.

She explains that being enough doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t invest in yourself―the very opposite is true. Just because you are enough doesn’t mean that you can’t be more.

Brooklyn explains that we’re all enough with what we have. And if there’s something that each of us feels like we should work on, that’s great; but that work should come from a place of value, not a place of lack.

Brooklyn continues to use the I Am Enough message to help people live better lives by stepping into the space of self-love and abundance.

Of course, Brooklyn also learned many other lessons in the Rapid Transformational Therapy® (RTT®) course. She says that the experience has been incredible and filled her with gratitude for Marisa and her team’s work.

In Brooklyn’s own words:

“I’m just so grateful that I took the opportunity in my life to do this training. I know it’s gonna revolutionize people’s lives when I get back home, and that’s great, but what is good for me personally… It is really phenomenal.”

How can you achieve the same level of success as Brooklyn?

You can start by knowing what common mistakes to avoid when becoming a hypnotherapist.

9 Mistakes To Avoid When Becoming a Hypnotherapist

Here are the most common mistakes people make when becoming a hypnotherapist and our top tips for successfully avoiding them:

1. Focusing solely on hypnosis depth

One of the first things you’ll learn about starting a hypnotherapy practice is that you must influence your client’s subconsciousness. That’s how you can help them rewire the deeply rooted beliefs that no longer serve them.

It’s natural to think that this requires a deep state of hypnosis, which you might be focusing on at the beginning—however, this is where the first mistake lies.

You see, the depth of your client’s hypnosis, while it certainly plays a role, is not the most crucial factor in seeing results. Among other important factors is setting clear goals and expectations.

So always ensure that you identify clear and meaningful targets and checkpoints with your clients to drive them towards the goals you want them to achieve.

2. Viewing hypnosis as something that you “do”

Some hypnotherapists believe they only need to get a client into a trance-like state to access their subconscious mind, and that when they do this, the toughest part of the job is over.

But this isn’t true.

You can’t “do” hypnosis. Instead, you need to guide your client through it. The client should feel comfortable going through these steps, which often requires you to build rapport.

If your client is uncomfortable and resistant to relaxing into a hypnotic state, then spend some time developing this. Take a few moments to sit down with them and discuss their issue to help them become more comfortable before the hypnotic induction.

Put their mind at ease by reassuring them that hypnosis is simply a relaxed state of increased focus and concentration without external distractions taking over our thoughts.

3. Having a bad website

In addition to knowing how to practice hypnotherapy effectively, you also need to figure out the business aspect of your career.

One of the most important aspects of this is marketing. After all, you must be able to reach those whom you want to help.

To help your audience find you, you must have an appealing website that shows people what you can do and how they can contact you.

There are many common mistakes that hypnotherapists make when building their website. Here are some of the most common:

Having an outdated design

Graphic design may not be high on your list of priorities, but you must think about what your audience wants to see when building a website. In most cases, a badly designed website will not help you connect with your audience; instead, it may have the opposite effect.

For example, look at how most modern websites look and you’ll see a clean and simple interface that provides a sense of professionalism and authority. If you can do and say a lot in a few polished elements, most people will respond well.

Therefore, it’s best to keep minimalism in mind when designing your website. This means no music or animations that play by default, clip art, and similar retro features. Instead, keep it simple and make your website easy to navigate for your users.

Not thinking about mobile devices

Do you use your phone or tablet to find what you need? So does your audience.

If your website isn’t mobile-friendly, people will have a hard time reaching out to you and you run the risk of losing a large portion of potential clients.

Whatever you do, you need to make sure that people can navigate your website on their mobile devices with ease. Luckily, this often doesn’t require any web design knowledge, as many building platforms can do this for you by automatically adjusting your content to look polished on mobile devices.

So, check if your platform of choice can do this. If not, and if web design isn’t one of your strong suits, find a professional who can do it for you.

Not highlighting your contact information

When designing your website, you must always keep its purpose in mind—the key goal of your website is to get people to book their first session with you. If you don’t, all of your efforts might be in vain.

Make sure that your homepage and all landing pages contain your contact information. This includes your phone number, email address, and social media handles. If you provide face-to-face therapy, you should display the address sessions take place at as well.

Ensure your website is user-friendly by including a “call to action” (CTA) button on each page. In most cases, this will aim to encourage your website users to book a session with you.

4. Trying to be perfect

Many people fall victim to the belief that they need to be perfect to have a successful career, including hypnotherapists.

As Marisa explains:

“When you try to be perfect, you have entered a race that you can’t win—you can’t even complete it! There is no finishing line; the finishing line keeps moving.”

Marisa says that those who try to be perfect are the unhappiest and loneliest people in the world. And when you think about it, the reason for this is clear.

If perfection is your goal, you’ll always feel like you’re not accomplishing enough. You’ll diminish your success by always focusing on what you haven’t achieved. This is an unrewarding and exhaustive way to approach anything.

This ties back in with the importance of understanding that you are already complete.

In Marisa’s words:

“You don’t need to be perfect. You don’t need to be flawless. You don’t need to be infallible. You just need to be enough.”

And you are enough.

From a career perspective, understand that there isn’t a perfect therapist who can do it all. We all have a part to play in changing people’s lives, and it’s not your job to do it all perfectly but to simply offer your contribution. Your piece of the puzzle can be all someone needs to live a happy life.

5. Not reinforcing your learning

Once you understand that you’re enough, every improvement will feel rewarding and fulfilling. In addition, with each new thing that you learn, you’ll feel more empowered.

As seen in our case study, Brooklyn is always looking for fresh ideas, and improvement is a full-time job for her—so Brooklyn used Marisa’s I Am Enough message and applied it to her work. In doing so, she offered her clients something new that helped them live better lives.

Continuous learning should be every therapist’s aim, and there’s a wealth of knowledge out there that can make you a better therapist and help you create more profound changes in your clients.

For a start, seminars are a great source of knowledge. You can learn from some of the most accomplished people in your field. Plus, you’ll meet many like-minded people who’d love to connect with you. This all helps discover the guidance and support you need to take your hypnotherapy practice to the next level.

6. Overpromising

It’s easy to think that your clients want to see you as an expert. After all, they have an issue they want you to help solve. However, this doesn’t mean you should make big promises about the results you will achieve with them.

You need to inform the client that their initiative is the key to therapy success. Allow them to play an active role in the process and trust you to understand their needs. That’s how you can build a strong bond with the client and help them achieve their hypnosis goals.

7. Trying to see a client’s story through your own lens

In a hypnotherapy career, you’ll meet a wide range of clients. Each with their own unique story and challenges they wish to overcome.

To help your clients, you need to remove yourself from the picture as you listen to them. In other words, you shouldn’t interpret anything that they say based on your opinions or life experiences.

Doing so is very likely to turn off the client. If they sense that you’re unable to understand them, most of them will be reluctant to work with you. They won’t trust you, and that’s going to make hypnosis very challenging.

To avoid this, you should adopt a non-judgmental approach when listening to your client’s story. Don’t form any opinions or reactions to what the client says, but rather just listen.

Being an active listener is an essential trait of a hypnotherapist, and so always keep an open mind and give the client’s story the respect it deserves.

8. Trying to be everything to everyone

What do you want your clients to achieve with hypnotherapy? Is there a particular set of issues or type of hypnotherapy that you’re passionate about?

While hypnotherapy is extremely versatile and can help overcome a broad range of issues, it is often best to market yourself within a specific niche when you are starting out.

Not only will you be able to spend more time diving deep into the issues of your chosen area of expertise, but you will also have an easier time marketing yourself. This is because you will know your ideal clients and how your therapy can help them.

Find the group of people who need you the most and identify the best way to help them achieve their goals. Then, after some time, you can always expand your spectrum, as long as you always stick to your best work.

9. Not understanding the requirements needed for certification

Many courses can help you to become a certified hypnotherapist. But first, you need to check the accreditations of whatever course you have in mind. Each country may have a different regulatory body that is required to approve your certification, so it’s best to do your research to make sure you’re choosing the right course.

Hypnosis is a responsible practice, so you must go through all the relevant modules and obtain the right certificates to obtain your license. Only then can you comfortably expand your knowledge through non-formal education.

As mentioned, learning should be a continuous process. Within every field of hypnotherapy, there are many courses that you can take and obtain your certifications. Doing so will expand your knowledge and skills and allow you to help more people create positive change in their lives.

Final Thoughts

There are many things you should be on the lookout for if you want to build a successful career in hypnotherapy. Now that you know the mistakes to avoid, it should be much easier to stay on the right path.

There’s no such thing as a perfect hypnotherapist, and nobody expects you to know and do it all. Instead, it’s all about improving your skills and growing your knowledge. And remember, there’s no limit to what you can achieve if you commit to continuous learning and seek knowledge in the right places. Download the RTT® prospectus here to learn more about how you could become certified in as little as six months.

Therapist Stories: Sandra de Gelder https://marisapeer.com/therapist-stories-sandra-de-gelder/ Fri, 28 Feb 2020 09:47:08 +0000 https://marisapeer.com/?p=38004 How to Get The “Clarity, Confidence and Courage” For A New Life

As a successful businesswoman, wife, and mother Sandra de Gelder looked like she ‘had it all’ to the outside world. However, she revealed, “I constantly felt this nagging feeling of discontent and pressure to perform and be something that I was not.” Deep down she knew she wasn’t living her purpose and fulfilling her true potential. She says “in reality, I was trapped in a golden cage.”

Sandra explains: “seven years ago I decided to leave my role as a Marketing Director for an international corporation to do more meaningful work. I founded a non-profit organization to inspire and help families live their lives in a more sustainable way. In 2018 I decided to go for a career switch and became an RTT therapist. I founded my own practice to share with others what RTT gave me: freedom and work that I love.”

Sandra de Gelder is now a certified Rapid Transformational Therapist & Hypnotherapist in Amsterdam. Find out how she achieved her biggest life-changing transformation, gaining clarity, confidence and courage, and why she now says “I cannot imagine more rewarding work.”

1. How has Rapid Transformational Therapy™ (RTT™) changed your life and why?

Before RTT I had a picture-perfect, successful life – externally that is. I was a Director at an international corporation managing various teams across the world. I had a husband, two children, a house in Amsterdam and a little cabin by the sea.

beach and grass

However, internally, I did not feel aligned with my purpose, with my contribution. I was good at my work, but I didn’t love it. I constantly felt this nagging feeling of discontent and pressure to perform and be something that I was not.

By the time I was 40 years old, I had fully identified myself with the role of a successful businesswoman and the high income that went with it. In reality, I was trapped in a golden cage.

Sandra de Gelder quote

It was time for rediscovery. I freed myself from the chains of the corporate job and shortly afterward my husband sadly left me. You can’t always get what you need, but I realized (in hindsight) that I got exactly what I needed. I decided to use the pain and struggle that followed as a springboard to my new life, back to my true self. The newfound freedom allowed me to fully reinvent myself and start living my purpose on this planet. It was my midlife expansion.

I did an RTT session with the only RTT therapist in the Netherlands at the time and she helped me get clarity, confidence and courage to go for my new life.

The 30-day RTT trajectory helped me identify the deep-rooted, limiting beliefs that blocked both my vision and my potential. I was able to make contact with my true self, to believe in myself again and to have faith in my gift. I started believing in my mission, my purpose, and my path. I transformed…

“Every setback, every failure, every heartache brings the seed of an equal or greater benefit.” – Napoleon Hill

2. How has RTT impacted your life?

To be where I am now, I had to let go of the old to create space for the new. For me, this meant saying goodbye to the externally successful, highly paid, high-status, world-traveling career and so long to the picture-perfect family with a husband, two children, more than one house and long vacations.

Sandra de Gelder quote 2

This required an enormous adjustment and finding a new balance took time. However, it has taught me very important lessons about life, love and how we learn and grow. It also brought me back to my purpose: helping people to get back on their own path towards their true selves and their highest potential through my role as a RTT Therapist. Now I help other parents who get stuck in the middle of their lives. I cannot imagine more rewarding work.

3. How did you discover RTT and why did you decide to do it? How is RTT different from other approaches you have tried?

I have been fascinated by the mind-body connection for as long as I can remember. When I first saw Marisa Peer speaking, it was like everything fell into place. Like she was giving words to what I subconsciously and intuitively knew all those years before. During my corporate career I fought hard with my rational male peers who demanded me to prove, analyze and rationalize all my intuitive strategic decisions. I always made the right call, but could never explain why. Now I can.

My mother has been in therapy her whole life, many different mental health professionals have tried to help her and to this day, not one of them has succeeded. They gave her pills and made her talk and talk. It saddened me and it frustrated me, I knew there must be a different way to help her. Now I know.

4. What was your experience of training in RTT?

I did the online training and started practicing on friends and family straight away. I loved the wealth of information in the video’s and felt that I could master it very quickly, as the method is so beautifully simple and digestible.

After a couple of months, I decided that I wanted to do the 5-day live course too and I am glad that I did. I gained a lot of depth in my training, lots of opportunities to practice and made lifelong friendships.

5. What did you most want to achieve from RTT?

Sandra de Gelder quoate 3

I wanted to have a new career. A new direction. A new life. I wanted to do work that I love. I wanted to do work that aligns with my talents and gifts. I wanted to be able to combine my work with single motherhood. I wanted to show my children that you can always transform, no matter how old you are, that you can choose a different path than is expected from you. That it is never too late to follow your heart.

6. How has your life changed now as a result of RTT? How does this relate to what you most wanted?

RTT gave me my confidence back after I was thrown back down hard losing all my (external) securities. It set me right back on my purpose path allowing me to use my midlife to grow to new heights, reinvent myself and reach my highest potential (which of course is expanding as I move towards it – as Marisa teaches).

7. What has been your biggest impact with RTT? What are you most proud of? Is there a client story that brings this to life?

Last week my first “RTT baby” was born. The mother sent me a picture of the baby girl just a few hours after she was born. I got goosebumps right there and then. I couldn’t believe I had contributed to bringing life into this world. To make a family so happy after a few very difficult losses and so many years of trying.

I love working with children and it has been a great pleasure to help a young boy see what caused his anxiety and social isolation and teach him how to use the power of his mind to get his young life back on track.

8. Anything else you would like to share?

Sandra de Gelder quote 4

I am so grateful and happy that I found Marisa and RTT to help get my life back on its rightful path after I was sidetracked for a while. RTT has enriched my life and that of my children. I have big plans for my RTT practice as I know that when I help parents find their way back as I did, many children will never have to lose their way.

Therapist Stories With Didi Kan https://marisapeer.com/therapist-stories-with-didi-kan/ Wed, 19 Feb 2020 14:06:11 +0000 https://marisapeer.com/?p=37946 Didi Kan ARTT, Cl.Hyp. is an Advanced RTT therapist, clinical hypnotherapist, mindset and mindfulness coach who shares his incredible story with us of how he drastically turned his life around…

“I tried to kill myself many times as a teenager and young adult.” Didi shares having experienced homelessness from the age of 12 and several addictions including Class A drugs. What Didi has been able to achieve through his life-changing transformation is outstanding and he now shares his experiences and the tools he’s learned with others.

In this incredibly raw interview, Didi puts it all into perspective when he says: “RTT is the single, quickest and most powerful protocol there is on the planet right now to regulate all emotional blockages and their aftermaths….

I literally save lives for a living and make the world a better, healthier and happier place, one mended soul at a time. I couldn’t possibly think of anything better than that.”

Please can you briefly summarise your life before Rapid Transformational Therapy™ (RTT™), what were your biggest challenges? How did this impact your life and what was it costing you?

I have spent 25+ years of my adult life being addicted to Class A drugs, alcohol, cigarettes, sex, porn, self-harm, anxiety, stress, insomnia, television, overthinking, insecurity, anger, reactivity, hatred, and jealousy towards happy and beautiful people… and I have been diagnosed and treated for suicidal manic depression.

I experienced homelessness and squatting in random places with drug addicts, sex workers, pimps, ex-convicts and strangers, on and off from the age of 12. I tried to kill myself many times as a teenager and young adult. I would regularly pass out from drugs and alcohol, not once but twice a day, every single day, for weeks on end until I ended up in comas. I was on a self-destruction mission. I was in such a constant raw state of pain, anger, and desolation.

Eventually, in 2008 and at the age of 38, a life event that I can only compare to the equivalent of surviving a plane crash changed my life. I have been given the unique opportunity to face my past and my demons. Confronting them in an incredibly long and difficult process freed me from them. I stopped all addictions. I went teetotal. I was happy and looking forward to the future for the first time in my life, and I decided to take care of my physical health as a priority.

I started a new career as a Strength and Conditioning coach to learn how to do that optimally and discovered the sport of powerlifting in the process. My powerlifting coach suggested I should register for a local competition for the experience. One thing led to another and I ended up being a British champion. For most of my life, I had the physical strength of Kurt Cobain and the mental and emotional stability of Amy Winehouse. However, somehow in 2013, I become the strongest man in the whole of Great Britain, in my category, in a sport that involves both physical and mental strength. I have competed again and ended in the top 3 three times.

The competition, the numbers, and the title are not important. What matters to me is how I managed to go from zombie to champion after a lifetime of depression, addiction and self-destruction. Because my outlook on life changed, all aspects of my life changed. I knew that if I could change, anyone could potentially change too. So I became obsessed with finding the best tools to help others experience the same plane crash survival impact and unlock the gates to their full potential. RTT found me and I now witness spectacular transformations on a weekly basis in my practice in London.

RTT is the set of keys I have been longing for, as they allow me to offer the same plane crash survival impact to my clients in one session. I have been offered the keys to fix my clients’ past, present, and future.

How did you discover RTT and why did you decide to do it? How is RTT different from other approaches you have tried?

Marisa Peer’s energy and wisdom through her YouTube videos always made sense to me. I decided to invest my last savings and enroll in her course in London 2017 out of a strong gut feeling. My gut is always right and that occasion was no exception.

As an ex bipolar addict, for most of my adult life, I have tried everything in vain. RTT is different because IT WORKS. RTT is the single, quickest and most powerful protocol there is on the planet right now to regulate all emotional blockages and their aftermaths. I see it in my patients every day and that never ceases to amaze me.

What was your experience of training in RTT?

Although I was able to hypnotize my fellow students from day 1, no one seemed to be able to hypnotize me. I have spent so many years creating a fortress around my heart that I couldn’t see or feel anything in hypnosis. 3 days before completion, Marisa Peer herself gave me a session, I had my breakthrough then and the rest is history.

The RTT Live course was the best investment I have ever made, at a professional and personal level. RTT elevated my career to the next league, and the mental clarity I have gained as a full-time therapist since 2017 expands my field of vision every day.

What did you most want to achieve from RTT?

I wanted to own an actual therapeutic protocol that I could use in conjunction with my mindset and mindfulness coaching career. I expected a torch to help me locate the exit from the tunnels of depression, anxiety, addiction, and self-sabotage. I ended up with Google Maps!!!

How has your life changed now as a result of RTT? How does this relate to what you most wanted?

There is no limit to growth in any aspect of our lives. RTT has granted me the maps and compasses to understand and navigate through the subconscious mind. I practice many of the RTT aspects on me regularly. As a result, the mental clarity and inner peace that I cherish and nurture every day allow me to experience life at a higher level. Those feelings of being high on life are only rivaled by the waves of gratitude I channel every time I witness a transformation with a patient.

What has been your biggest impact with RTT? What are you most proud of? Is there a client story that brings this to life?

I have been blessed with so many successes that I couldn’t possibly pick just one story and I am always excited by the new cases ahead. In a nutshell, I literally save lives for a living and make the world a better, healthier and happier place, one mended soul at a time. I couldn’t possibly think of anything better than that. I love my work. I love my life. I love all the people that come into my life.

Anything else you would like to share?

It is important to realize that RTT is only a tool, not a magic wand. A scalpel is only as good as the surgeon. A Stradivarius is only as good as the violinist. But if you feel that you can make a difference, as Dr. Wayne Dyer said once: “Don’t die with the music still in you.”

Thank you so much, Didi, for sharing your powerful story of RTT®.

Therapist Stories: Stacey Michelle https://marisapeer.com/therapist-stories-stacey-michelle/ Fri, 14 Feb 2020 11:39:29 +0000 https://marisapeer.com/?p=37916 “It’s never too late to find your bliss and make your life what you want it to be…” says Stacey Michelle in this empowering interview, where she shares her real-life story of self-love…

“I work mostly with ladies dealing with anxiety, depression, anger, worthlessness and self-sabotage; basically women that have hit an emotional brick wall and just can’t carry on anymore. My desire is to see my ladies leave my sessions feeling confident, peaceful, in flow and determined to follow their bliss. Taking back their power and starting to accomplish things they’d never imagined possible.

Stacey Michelle 1

I’m an example of that, so I know it can happen. I’ve been through many struggles myself and understand how dark things can get at times. However, I also know that you can rise up through those times and emerge a stronger, wiser, more compassionate person. That’s why my focus is on helping women find true self-love, self-compassion, and to discover who they are without all the negative inner dialogue and fear of being judged that has controlled them most of their lives.

Staey Michelle 2

On the cusp of turning 51, I didn’t want to work just to earn an income. I wanted to do something that would make my heart happy and be purposeful, so I decided to finally follow the advice I’d given my kids for years – to follow my heart and study something I loved.”

Stacey from Western Australia now works with clients from all over the world as a Rapid Transformational Therapy™ (RTT™) practitioner. In this interview she explains how “I love seeing women go from years of fear, anxiety, hopelessness, anger and dread to happiness, confidence, inner love and peace. It will never get tiring! RTT is bringing peace, confidence, self love and compassion to life. It’s a very moving and inspiring experience.”

How has Rapid Transformational Therapy™ (RTT™) changed your life and why?

RTT has given my life a whole new purpose & direction. It’s given me the gift of not only being able to do what I am absolutely passionate about, transforming holistically (and quickly), but it’s offered me the ability to work from home or wherever I choose, as long as I have access to the internet. This spells a whole lot of flexibility and freedom that I intend to take advantage of from now on. My aging parents are in the UK (I’m in Australia), so I can now pick up my laptop and go and spend time with them while still running my practise.

Please can you briefly summarise your life before RTT, what were your biggest challenges? How did this impact your life and what was it costing you?

Hypnosis had intrigued me for many, many years but I never pursued it. I was either too busy raising a family, working, or helping my husband in his landscaping business… that was until my youngest son became sick. He was bed ridden on and off for years and I became his full time carer which impacted us financially too.

For a long time I just couldn’t see a way out of the struggle, especially with my sick son, feeling helpless to change things. I’m acutely aware of how fragile and precious life is so I’ve constantly tried to better myself, focus on positivity and expand my knowledge, but that didn’t offer a way out… Until it led me to discovering Marisa on a TEDx talk, which eventually led to where I am now!

How did you discover RTT and why did you decide to do it? How is RTT different from other approaches you have tried?

I was staying over at my eldest son’s house for the night when he and I got into a conversation about work. I told him I was going to look for a part time job but really wanted to do something that I was passionate about.

My son said “well why don’t you go and study what you love!” He told me to get online and look for courses, saying life’s too short and I should follow my heart… All things I’d always said to him while he was growing up!

Odd really, but that brief conversation inspired me. I went home the next day and researched courses. Over the next few days I kept seeing Marisa Peer and RTT coming up on my social media. I was fascinated because a few years earlier I had come across Marisa Peer on a previous TEDx talk and she had intrigued me.

I loved her confidence so I watched her videos, read about her course and got really excited, but I’d just committed myself to a different course and didn’t want to take on too much, so I held off from signing up.

When I started the other course I met a lady who mentioned RTT. This lady was studying it. She spoke very highly of the course, the support and the potential.

Around that time I’d seen an Australian hypnosis school were doing a seminar in my local city so I held off signing up to RTT to see what that was about. When I got there I got chatting with another lady and she told me she had not long returned for the UK where she trained directly with Marisa Peer doing RTT!

She told me how much she loved it, how amazing it was to see people with lifelong health issues be instantly transformed and how everything Marisa claims about rapid transformation was true. She herself had worked with clients and had been shocked by the results!

Stacey Michelle 4

That was it for me, you know when you get that gut feeling something is right… I went home that night and signed up… RTT turned out to not only teach me how to transform people’s lives, it came with a comprehensive business/marketing course, a great support team and Facebook groups full of other practitioners and students helping each other out. I loved it from the day I signed up, and studied around the clock day in day out.

What was your experience of training in RTT?

The course is brilliant, it takes time and practice like everything, but the information is all there, the Facebook group is full of wonderful men and women all helping each other out, fellow students and graduates there to encourage and guide.

What did you most want to achieve from RTT?

Apart from wanting my own successful practice, working my own hours with clients that were ready for huge change in their lives, I was interested in helping people with depression and mental health issues. This is because my family, like so many, has been deeply affected by a family member with mental health issues.

I’ve also been passionate about natural healing and the power of the mind for much of my life, so this was just perfect for me.

How has your life changed now as a result of RTT? How does this relate to what you most wanted?

Staey Michelle 5

RTT has become a massive part of my life, it’s given me so much joy, a sense of purpose, independence and is a great income source that has massive potential judging by some other practitioners.

But apart from those reasons it has given me the opportunity to start living a completely different life, travelling and running my own business as I go. Being able to work my own hours, so I still get to hang out with my baby granddaughter and all the people I love.

I feel like I’ve found my calling and I know from the results that my clients are getting, that I am good at what I do, but to be fair, even the most basic RTT sessions make an impact so it’s not hard to be good.

I get no bigger thrill than seeing my clients go from anxiety to joy and self-love in one session, such a buzz.

Stacey Michelle 6

Unless you experience RTT, it’s difficult to fathom, but it is very special.

On a personal level I’ve done many self-hypnosis sessions and am feeling more positive, motivated, confident and self-aware than ever before. I know what I want and what I won’t put up with anymore, which is what happens when you learn to love and respect yourself.

What has been your biggest impact with RTT? What are you most proud of? Is there a client story that brings this to life?

I’ve had some big impacts around anxiety, depression, OCD and anger, but I think what really helped me appreciate the power of RTT was working with a lady that had found me on Facebook when I had not long started taking paying customers. She was desperate, at the end of her ability to cope and not sure how to carry on. She didn’t want to go back to her doctor and be put on more drugs. She was full of anger and deeply upset at how she was pushing people she loved away but couldn’t control her outbursts.

She told me some of the trauma she had experienced in our pre-session call, so I planned her session based on that, mostly around anger. I had told her we should book only one session and we could see if she needed more after that.

She insisted on booking more than one session because she knew her trauma and felt we would need many. She warned me that I might possibly never work with anyone as traumatised as her, so I agreed to booking two sessions and said we could go from there.

woman crying on phone

A few nights before our session she called me up in floods of tears, she wanted me to know her “whole story.” There was so much she hadn’t told me, horrible abuse going back to a very young age from many people in her life, physical, mental, sexual, abandonment, she dealt with the tragic death of a dear loved one and much more. So much heart-breaking tragedy that affected her every day. She was right, I’d never personally heard of that much abuse. This beautiful lady had been through many lifetimes worth of trauma and abuse in her one life.

I suddenly felt I was really out of my depth, I asked advice in our online RTT Forum and was told by other therapists that this lady would need many sessions (which is very rare in RTT). When the day came around I felt a bit nervous. Like I was in over my head, but I was committed so I had to give it my very best.

Before her session, I reminded myself that I have the tools, I’ve seen them work with other clients. I’ve seen Marisa correct long-term bad vision in one session and scoliosis in another session. I’ve seen lots of people with severe depression or eating disorders being transformed with RTT. I’d also read countless stories of transformations from other practitioners, so I just needed to have faith in RTT and my abilities.

We did the session online as this lady lived in another country. It was full of tears and sadness, but there were moments of warmth and love when she met her younger self. By the end of our three-hour session she was utterly exhausted, so was I. She didn’t seem happy like my other clients had been at the end of their sessions. I told her I’d be in touch the next day to check in on her and then each week for the three weeks that she needed to listen to her personal hypnosis recording.

The next day I contacted her, I must admit, I was a bit concerned but was even more concerned when she didn’t reply. I left her a few messages but nothing, each day passed and still nothing.

My brain did what our brains do, it started looking for the worst case scenario… Had she gone into a deep depression, could she be in hospital, could she be suicidal? For the weekly check in I tried calling, texted and I messaged her on Facebook, but still nothing. Now I am starting to get really worried…. Then I got a message…

She was travelling home from a big family reunion the night before and she’d had an amazing time socialising and loved being the centre of attention for the first time in her 50 plus years. She said she felt absolutely amazing, she’d even had a situation the day before that would have normally triggered her, but she didn’t react which stunned herself and her husband.

She couldn’t thank me enough, she was loving her recording and listening every day, she even asked if we might be able to do a positive RTT session in the future, no looking at past trauma. We decided to wait and see how she felt after the 21 days and decide from there.

Now, six months later, she tells me she’s 90% recovered and 100% in love with her life and no other session was needed for this issue! One session turned this lady’s lifetime of horrible abuse and trauma around.

Stacey 7

I get such a rush of joy knowing how happy she is. Her session has filled me with so much confidence and love for RTT. I want to tell everyone about how powerful it is.

Anything else you would like to share?

Yes. Firstly a massive thank you to Marisa for creating and fine tuning RTT over the last 30 years. How many lives has she transformed?! Not just through transformation, but through giving people like me a new life and purpose.

Some people just show up on planet earth and shake things up for the good, Marisa is one of them. Through her students, RTT will keep going and keep transforming lives for many decades to come. Incredible.

Secondly I want to say how it saddens me that there is a fear around hypnosis for a lot of people. Like most things, it comes from being unaware. Hypnosis accesses and can reprogram the subconscious mind. If there was more understanding of the power and simplicity of reprogramming the subconscious mind, there would be significantly less mentally, physically and emotionally damaged people suffering and living unfulfilled lives.

The subconscious mind is being programmed by each person every moment of every day, how else do you know how to walk, write, drive a car, remember phone numbers, birthdays, or learn new things. If you couldn’t retain the info in your subconscious mind you wouldn’t have those skills. However, not all things we repeatedly do are good for us.

Most of us do more damage to ourselves than anyone else could inflict on us by constantly repeating bad memories and negative thoughts. Who could you be if you didn’t constantly think limiting, negative, sabotaging thoughts of not being good enough?

It’s important for each one of us to take responsibility for our mental health, not just for ourselves but for our loved ones. Too many people are walking around feeling lost, depressed, anxious, self-harming, limited, unfulfilled and without hope.

Stacey 8

There is holistic, rapid and lasting help. Hypnosis is an ancient method yet today most people fear they’ll end up clucking like a chicken instead of being transformed.

Midwives, anaesthetists, dentists and surgeons are starting to take hypnosis seriously, conventional medicine appreciates its value as a pain reliever, but it’s much more than that, especially with Marisa’s hybrid RTT.

Just like updating software in a phone or laptop, your brain needs updating, it’s still running on the programming it received when you were a very small and suggestible child.

I think RTT should be taught in schools, to teachers, medical professionals, psychiatrists, psychologists, police, prison officers, and anyone that has the potential to impact vulnerable people.

Be proactive and make the most of your life – one RTT session could be what stands between you and a whole new life.

Thank you so much Stacey for demonstrating the importance of self-love in transforming lives and the extraordinary power of RTT.

Therapist Stories: From ‘broken woman’ to having a ‘beautiful sexy body’ Mariann reveals all… https://marisapeer.com/therapist-stories-from-broken-woman-to-having-a-beautiful-sexy-body-mariann-reveals-all/ Thu, 06 Feb 2020 11:36:10 +0000 https://marisapeer.com/?p=37862 In this honest interview about creating an “extraordinary life” Mariann Sebestyen, shares the secret of how she went from “broken woman” to having a “beautiful sexy body”…

How has Rapid Transformational Therapy™ (RTT™) changed your life and why?

The best gift I ever got from RTT is myself and my body. I eat healthier (salads, seeds, protein) and I have already lost weight. Most of my thinking and relationship with myself and with food have changed so much. I have control over my eating, and I feel enough and worthy of having a beautiful sexy body and taking care of it.

RTT got to the root cause of my eating issue and found out I was replacing love with food, to try to fill up the emptiness that I felt inside of me.

Please can you briefly summarise your life before RTT, what were your biggest challenges? How did this impact your life and what was it costing you?

I was a broken woman who was just trying to keep herself alive, but did not really want to live. I did not feel worth it or my life.

I had deep depression, lack of self-confidence, low self-esteem and struggled with my weight since my early childhood, which made it worse and had an impact on loving myself and my relationships. I could never accept the look of me and I never liked it.

I did not have hope or love and I did not even believe in myself, based on how I was brought up and people’s affection. All parts of my life were broken because I was broken inside. It cost me time, pain, stress, and disturbed my peace. I was angry all the time and losing control, I hated myself and my life.

To sum up my life since RTT, I no longer have depression and am now full of self-confidence and self-esteem. My weight problem is gone and I have lost 8 kilos already and that is just the beginning.

I now feel like a real woman, the beautiful woman who was always hidden inside of me, who is making her life amazing and allowing herself to do what she loves. I could not have done this without RTT because that method has such a power in transformation and completely changed my life. I am now happy in my body and I find home and harmony inside of me.

How did you discover RTT and why did you decide to do it? How is RTT different from other approaches you have tried?

I visited the doctor who just told me to go on a diet, and I tried dieting, but no matter how hard I tried I could never lose weight and stop eating. I tried workouts, but I got tired and saw no results. I knew there had to be more behind my issue.

I started to think about my life and my childhood, which was not perfect at all. I spent so much of my time dealing with myself, even if I talked to friends or family – they never understood me, I felt alone. I tried to buy self-help books, check Facebook groups and last October I found Marisa Peer on Facebook and when she described what she does I knew that was for me.

With RTT, I found the root cause and let it go from my past. I had never considered that the weight could be related to emotion or love.

That was my calling and my second chance at life, for which I am so grateful, I can’t express in words. I always achieve what I want because I am not giving up on me or on my dreams.  I have never known I could go that far in my life and be the happy person I am today.

What was your experience of training in RTT?

I chose the RTT® Live In-Person course and I was attending the 5 days live practical in London. It was the most amazing experience, thanks to the amazing team there and meeting the famous, Marisa Peer.

The RTT trainers were so supportive and we just created a big family. I felt understood, supported and connected. The live demonstration and explanation of the tools and full sessions by Marisa was extremely helpful. I said on graduation day that I wished that I could do another week as I enjoyed the time so much. I did not want it to end. I had a really good experience with the training and also the online material. There is so much support for us and it is valuable. I have never regretted it, not for one moment, because I see what I got from the course.

What did you most want to achieve from RTT?

What I most wanted to achieve was to transform myself from the past and have my life and myself back. I wanted to get myself out of depression and make my life better, to put the smile back on my face and to reduce my weight.

With RTT I feel there is no limit in my life. There are so many people who have similar situations to what I went through, I would like to give them a new life so they can become “The best version of themselves” using RTT.

How has your life changed now as a result of RTT? How does this relate to what you most wanted?

I am a more confident person, I have improved self-esteem and a new belief that I deserve the best from life. I have found my life purpose as an RTT therapist. RTT completely changed me in every aspect of my life.

I am able to handle things that I could have never handled before. I enjoy positive thinking and I don’t let the negative criticism in. Since I started using RTT I have changed my life and lifestyle. I make success and focus on that. I have learnt not to let in any negative words in my life. I have my voice and control over my life, and I create my amazing life the way I want it now.

RTT gave me all I was dreaming about. Before I felt like those things weren’t available to me, but now all of them are. I am deeply grateful for RTT and for Marisa Peer who showed me the way of living.

What has been your biggest impact with RTT? What are you most proud of? Is there a client story that brings this to life?

I am very proud of my first client who never knew anything about RTT or hypnosis. It was a Zoom session and we worked on his issue of anxiety when he spoke in public. I was nervous, but I knew I had the tools to do it. I went back to a couple of scenes and applied my detective skills and I found out the root cause of his issue, using RTT to reframe and transform.

I did the follow up with him to make sure that he was okay. I did not know how well I had done until the moment came when he had to do a group presentation. I asked him how he felt and he said “relaxed and confident.”

When it came to his turn to present, he nailed it! He said that to be out there in front of the crowd was just a dream for him, but actually that day it became his truth, his reality. He was so amazed about how well RTT works and I felt incredibly happy. I feel the feeling that he felt, because his success became my success as well.

This was the greatest experience and I felt so proud of him and so happy for myself. I think I do understand what Marisa feels when she sees people’s lives changing because of her. It is the most amazing feeling and sharing the success of my client and myself.

I am so happy I made the decision to say YES to RTT and say YES to myself and the success. I love RTT so much.

Thank you, Mariann, for sharing your experiences with us, we are also really glad that you said YES to RTT and are enjoying the benefits and the difference it makes.

RTT Comes To Life: Isabella Ivory https://marisapeer.com/rtt-comes-to-life-isabella-ivory/ Tue, 21 Jan 2020 04:04:19 +0000 https://marisapeer.com/?p=37735 Isabella Ivory is a certified Rapid Transformational Therapy therapist, hypnotherapist, and Theta Healing practitioner. She describes her approach as combining neuroscience and understanding how the brain works, with ancient wisdom and a deep interest in people.

Isabella says, “My way of working with my clients involves complete immersion and a deep focus on them…My clients come to see me to find emotional peace, physical health, life-purpose and more. I rewire their beliefs, help them re-write who they are, I recognise the greatness inside them and how to achieve this through this deep-reaching and precise form of transformation that is RTT.”

In this interview, Isabella explains how “I found my life-purpose, thanks to Marisa and I would love to share my journey and the incredible successes I have experienced, which humble, fascinate and spur me on every day to do what I simply love.”

We wanted to find out more about the powerful transformation that Isabella has managed to achieve, not just in her own life, but in her clients too. This includes helping someone wheelchair bound to walk and even dance again…

How has Rapid Transformational Therapy™ (RTT™) changed your life and why?

Marisa Peer’s pioneering method – RTT – expresses so completely and beautifully the ability of our mind to heal, emotionally and also physically. It is not just theory, but it gives us the practical tools to transform lives.

With RTT, I understood in concrete terms that ‘your mind (and your energy), responds to the words and pictures you use’. This is one of Marisa’s rules of the mind.

When I started creating better words and pictures, I went from feeling like nothing, to becoming everything I want. Thanks to RTT I am now living my life purpose!

RTT brought me personal tranformation, professional development and the ability to fulfil my life purpose. RTT brought me friends, connection, knowledge, wisdom, a tribe… Plus endless support, guidance and inspiration from a knowledgeable and multifaceted group of peers whom I respect, appreciate and adore.

I have made so many friends since starting this course and made so many amazing connections, including with my clients. The difference in my life from who I was to who I am now is, unfathomable! The change in me and the impact this work has, is so extreme that I can see old friends and family have had a bit of adjusting to do.

Please can you briefly summarise your life before RTT, what were your biggest challenges? How did this impact your life and what was it costing you?

Before I discovered RTT, I was stuck. Stuck professionally and unable to shine. I simply didn’t have the knowledge, skills and tools that I have now. I produced beautiful art, learnt a lot of theory, but didn’t quite manage to breakthrough.

I had a long period in my life when I was sick. I had Gastrointestinal issues, numerous food intolerances, anxiety and panic attacks, plus agoraphobia. I wasn’t able to reach personal or professional success. I felt disconnected within and from the world around me.

I had been on a long journey of healing and healed myself slowly over the years of emotional trauma, mystery illnesses the doctors had no cure for, and a fibroid tumour. I now know that I could have saved myself years of unnecessary suffering if I had discovered RTT sooner.

How did you discover RTT and why did you decide to do it? How is RTT different from other approaches you have tried?

I remember sitting on my bed and watching those first videos of Marisa. To be able to study with her has been an experience that is so much more than I could ever have imagined. It is a bit surreal. RTT has made my life. I did RTT® Live In-Person London. What an experience! I still cannot believe I was there, with Marisa in person.

Understanding how the subconscious mind works, and how it guides and controls so much of us is key. Without it, all of us can simply read good books, verbalize affirmations, do some meditations, have good coaches etc. However, if that were enough, most of our problems and struggles would be solved. The truth is that it is simply not possible without engaging with the subconscious mind, which is the seat of our internal ‘programming’, and the emotional centre.

RTT can be used with surgical-precision targeting, for transformation through tapping into the subconscious mind. I work on mind, body and spirit to bring about phenomenal success after success, thanks to all my guides and masters, especially Marisa Peer. Without her and RTT, we would still be far behind what we are now able to achieve.

One of the great challenges though is that RTT is still in the early stages of awareness. So when you tell people RTT can help with all these issues, they can be sceptical. They wonder how one science, modality, methodology can possibly heal so many things? They look at it with a certain disbelief. However, those who try it and have experienced personal success are lyrical.

We use advanced hypnosis for this. Contrary to what many people might believe about ‘hypnosis’, which they may have seen with stage hypnosis, this is very safe for both the client and the therapist. In this relaxed state of consciousness, the mind will not accept falsehood.

In RTT we do away with endless chatter and go into a deep state of consciousness and reflection, which is normally the realm of habitual meditators and the sadhus, monks and gurus. In this powerful state of consciousness, we can receive all the true answers that we need. We bypass any artifice created by persona, habit, defence mechanisms and go into the mind-vault that holds all the information and data inside.

What was your experience of training in RTT?

The whole process of studying, learning, and practicing RTT is utterly alchemic. I have learnt more now about people from practicing RTT than I could have learnt from reading books. This is because people and their experiences are unique and infinite. Working with their consciousness, and gaining insight with them, my own consciousness also increases.

None of this would have happened without RTT; the study, the course, the way it is structured, the practical part of it, the help and support that is offered and is always available. There are some amazing parts of the course, like the special hypnosis for the therapists made by Marisa, which make it a life altering experience.

What did you most want to achieve from RTT? How has your life changed as a result?

I wanted the opportunity to really learn from Marisa Peer about how to go into the human mind and find the how, why, where and when, that led to beliefs and programs being formed, then, how to change them. Even before I studied RTT, I recognised a visionary and genius in Marisa that I was inspired to learn from.

Since qualifying, I have skyrocketed in successfully being able to transform and heal people on multiple levels. I have helped people overcome physical issues, emotional issues and find their life purpose.

I got everything out of studying RTT I could have wished for and more. I could never have predicted the extraordinary successes I have seen my clients achieve. To be able to play a part in that is humbling….

I feel connected to and have an impact on countless people. I can work from where I want, and this flexibility is also hugely beneficial on so many levels.

What has been your biggest impact with RTT? What are you most proud of? Is there a client story that brings this to life?

One of my special successes is the extraordinary story of Natalie, a dance instructor and medical professional who was able to walk again from being wheelchair bound.

Natalie could not walk for almost a year after suffering multiple brain hemorrhages after a violent incident. After some pre-session work and one RTT session with me, this brave and amazing lady could walk again to the astonishment of everyone.

Natalie had spent a lot of time in numerous therapies in a highly advanced rehabilitation center, but nothing had helped with the walking. From having her whole home fitted for a wheelchair, Natalie had not been able to even go to the bathroom unsupported, needing regular medical care. After the RTT session she was able to walk out of her house, feel the sun on her face and walk her beloved dog. This means so much to her and her pet whose existence depends solely on her. She has now even enrolled in an Argentinian tango class fulfilling a dream of hers.

This was the message I received from Natalie 12 hours after our session:

“Dear Isabella,I hope you are ok…please don’t be alarmed. I am doing rather well. And it seems almost unreal, I can walk at the table myself and SIT DOWN AT THE TABLE! Not being wheeled or shoved to the table is such a massive re-establishing of a life quality I can hardly describe.”A day after our session she could walk out of her house. Go outside and be with the sunshine on her face. Can you imagine? Can you understand her joy? Can you understand…My joy?

This was such an amazing rapid transformation, as Natalie had suffered strokes, blood clots in her brain, had problems with speech, movement and concentration. Natalie was told by medical professionals that she may never be able to return to walking and normal life. Having suffered multiple brain hemorrhages, she had to relearn how to even move, to button a shirt, pick up a spoon, relearn to write…. To go from that to being able to walk again, after just one RTT Session, is defying all known and familiar norms.

What is humanly possible to achieve by commanding the mind through the subconscious? All of these case studies of incredible results achieved through RTT challenge our perceived notions of what is possible and what is normal. With RTT we challenge and are changing the beliefs of what is possible.

Another client of mine, has completely changed her life, just like I did with RTT. In 5 months and a few sessions with me on topics such as depression, anxiety, rejection, life-purpose she has changed her country of living, profession, relationships, made spiritual growth, and found her life-purpose, she has found her internal power!

With RTT, I have helped a client with MS, another with Hashimoto, another stopped having chronic migraines, another client could now finally start connecting with people, so many clients have mental clarity and a sense of life-purpose, and the list goes on.

I have worked with many illnesses, issues and conditions. Helping people with anxiety, depression, panic attacks, anger. Helping people to make true connections with people, themselves, and find emotional peace. Helping people recover from childhood trauma, change relationships, change professions, change country of living, and find life-purpose.

The successes I share, I believe come from completely understanding and tuning in to my clients. Being the detective, the Seer, the skilled physician, the soul friend. Being full of curiosity and completely focused. Being the humble servant – serving.

Anything else you would like to share?

Examples of my recent successes with RTT include:

– Helping a client use the power of her mind to command her body into Walking again

– Helping people with anxiety, depression, panic attacks, anger

– Helping a client with MS (Multiple Sclerosis) able to stop new lesion growth in the brain, and bring up the required B-cells in their blood, another to walk normal after just 4 weeks

– Helping a client recover from childhood trauma, change relationships, change professions, change country of living, and find life-purpose

– Helping people to make true connections with people, themselves, and find emotional peace

– Helping someone with multiple health conditions, get specific blood markers in balance and chronic multiple infections down

– The list goes on…

Having healed myself, I help others heal- on a journey of self-discovery and transformation. And an Army of Angels springs up,to flood the Earth with love, and incredible stories-redefining what is possible.” With love and gratitude,Isabella Ivory

Thank you Isabella for that fascinating insight into the phenomenal transformations that have been possible and truly life-changing. It is great to hear how RTT is being used in the world for such powerful transformation. Thank you.

Find out how Natalie transformed her life and recovered from PMDD and why she says “What I discovered is something no doctor could have told me…”

Please can you briefly summarise your life before Rapid Transformational Therapy™ (RTT™), what were your biggest challenges?

I have always been a confident, positive and happy person – except on the days that I was everything but.

What no one knew, aside from those very close to me, is that for a few days every month I was struggling with debilitating mood swings that would plunge me into deep sadness, anger and worthlessness, brought on by the premenstrual hormonal shift. This had been going on for over a decade. I knew what I was experiencing was not just garden-variety PMS.

I tentatively shared what was happening in one of my mothers’ groups and no one could relate. I realised then that something was quite wrong. Did I have a personality disorder? Was I bipolar? After going down the Google rabbit hole, I eventually discovered a little-known disorder known as Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder or PMDD.

These are some of the most common symptoms of PMDD and pertain to the week leading up to menstruation:

  • Mood swings
  • Irritability or anger or increased interpersonal conflicts
  • Depressed mood, feelings of hopelessness, or self-deprecating thoughts
  • Anxiety, tension, and/or feelings of being on edge
  • Decreased interest in usual activities
  • Difficulty concentrating
  • Marked lack of energy
  • Hypersomnia or insomnia
  • A sense of being overwhelmed or out of control

PMDD affects one in twenty women and of those, it is believed between 15% and 30% attempt suicide. I saw my GP and was given the diagnosis, along with a prescription for Zoloft which I was instructed to take for the 14 days leading up to my period.

Can you tell us a little more about your experience with PMDD?

The best way I can describe it is that it feels like one is possessed by a dark, depressed spirit. It builds like a tsunami and comes crashing down, usually in a dramatic, irrational, damaging outburst, which is then followed by feelings of guilt and worthlessness.

The anger and sadness feels absolutely justified at the time, it is only a few days later that you realise how “crazy” you’ve been. I used to feel completely flooded by it, as if my blood had turned to tears. Because it completely hijacks your mind, it warps the way you see things. It is like the emotional pain inside of you wants to prove itself to be true and will twist whatever it can to make it fit. For example, if your  husband was held back at work, you might think “Oh that must be because he doesn’t want to spend time with me.” If the kids left the kitchen in a mess, you might think “Oh that’s because nobody respects me.”

Because PMDD is not really understood, there is no treatment for it other than experimenting with different types of birth control or antidepressants, which for many, make no difference and have unappealing side-effects like loss of libido and insomnia. Many women opt for a full hysterectomy as they simply can’t bear the symptoms anymore and the destructive impact it can have on relationships, career and motherhood.

How did this impact your life?

It was impacting my marriage each month in a way I was not willing to accept. My first marriage was damaged irreparably by it – back then I didn’t know what was going on. I was determined this time not to damage my otherwise intimate, beautiful, loving respectful, passionate marriage. One day I decided that I simply must master this PMDD thing. It may not be my fault I had it, but it was my responsibility to master it. The most powerful words I ever spoke to myself while looking in the mirror were these: “No one is coming to save you Natalie. It is going to have to be you”.

How did you discover Rapid Transformational Therapy™ (RTT™)? Why did you decide to try it?

Not long after I made that commitment to myself, I saw Marisa Peer on a YouTube ad. When the student is ready, the teacher appears. As Marisa started speaking about the power of our mind, I was enthralled and fascinated. I already had a psychology degree and was working as a stress coach, but what Marisa had to say was like a light turned on. Part of Marisa’s genius is that she makes complex principles so simple and obvious that you almost feel like you’ve known it all along.

I watched everything I could from Marisa. I did her online group RTT module “Ultimate Confidence” and felt a shift immediately. I felt in my heart I was born to do what she does, like this is what my life had been leading up to. I made the decision to train with her in RTT.

What did you most want to achieve from RTT?

The funny thing is, I didn’t train in RTT thinking it would help me with premenstrual dysphoria. I just wanted to do what Marisa does, so I could help others. The typical ‘wounded healer’ I was! Little did I realise Rapid Transformational Therapy would transform me first.

What was your experience of RTT? How many sessions did you have, did you listen to an audio recording and how did you find it?

I did the online sessions contained in the course. I listened to the ‘I Am Enough’ recording which I could feel changing my brain every time the suggestions were spoken. It was renewing my mind and old outdated, negative beliefs were falling away like an old snake skin.

How has your life changed? How does this relate to what you most wanted?

I can’t remember exactly how many weeks into the training it was when I realised I hadn’t had any PMDD symptoms. At first I thought it was just a lucky month. My period had arrived without the usual premenstrual emotional chaos. I was positive, content and calm, my usual confident, happy self. The next month, the same. And the month after that. And the month after that!

It has now been over two years since I have had any PMDD symptoms and I have RTT to thank for much of that.

Worthlessness has been replaced with a deep sense of self-worth and enoughness.. Insecurity in my relationship has been filled with the greatest security of all – trust in myself and my ability to deal with whatever life brings and an unshakeable knowing that I am enough. Rapid Transformational Therapy gave me the power to transform myself.

How did this help? How do you feel now as a result of RTT?

What I discovered is something no doctor could have told me. What I now believe is that the hormonal shift in women with PMDD works a bit like truth-serum or a magnifying glass, putting one in touch with unresolved emotional pain. Another way of thinking about it, is that the hormonal shift creates a “thinning of the veil” which reveals your deepest negative beliefs.

Thanks to Marisa, I now understand that trauma can be macro or micro and that it indeed isn’t what happens to us that hurts us, but what we come to believe about ourselves as a result.

RTT allows you to go back to the root cause and reason for your current issue and reframe it with your adult wisdom and understanding, which instantly changes the belief at a subconscious level. Transform the wound (i.e. change the negative belief) and there is nothing left for the hormonal shift to magnify.

How has your life changed? How does this relate to what you most wanted?

RTT has changed my life in ways that I would need pages to describe fully. PMDD is now something I used to have and I have no fear of it returning, because now I understand what it really was…. My hormones weren’t making me crazy. They were trying to show me where I needed to change.

I now specialise in helping other women to find the same freedom from PMDD and I have witnessed lives transformed. I would go as far as to say that more than a few lives have been saved from suicide. I’ve seen marriages on the edge of divorce blossom again. A few husbands have come to me after seeing the massive positive change in the wives and said “I’ll have what she’s having”! The majority of the women I work with experience the same  wonderful results I had which is so incredibly rewarding. I’ve even had two psychiatrists write to me to ask me what I did with their clients, because they cannot believe the transformation. To them it seems miraculous.

RTT has upgraded so many areas of my life. My relationship is better than ever, I’m a more loving, patient, in-tune mum and not only that, my RTT clinic is thriving. I earn more now than I ever did in my corporate jobs and I have full flexibility, allowing me to be there more for my four kids. I feel a sense of deep fulfilment and purpose in my work, helping people transform and find freedom.

How is RTT different from other approaches you have tried?

Nothing I have tried before comes close to RTT.

RTT goes right to the root issue, allowing your brilliant subconscious mind to show you what you need to know to transform. It is your own wisdom that rescues you.

RTT is fast, it is intense, it is a beautiful, transformative experience. It is a complete therapy that gets lasting results.

What has been your biggest impact with RTT? What are you most proud of?

I have worked with almost 300 clients now with all kinds of issues from phobias to smoking to depression to weight loss and there are so many amazing stories of transformation and the ripple effect that has had on their lives. What I am most proud of though is helping other women to be free of PMDD, especially because they have been told there is no cure.

This message from one of my clients is just one of many that I have received over the past two years, which has given me goosebumps:

“We are at Disneyland which I should say this time last year I had an extremely bad episode of PMDD and tried to kill myself and went into a mental hospital, my daughter and husband went on the trip without me. So I’m here on the family trip this year during the part of my cycle I would be at the height of PMDD and I literally feel nothing. Just the best version of myself. I’m on no medication now and I feel like a different person and so happy I’m able to be present this time with my family. Thank-you Natalie, I am so grateful for everything this program has done to change my life.”

Anything else you would like to share?

If you suspect you might have PMDD, the first step is to get a diagnosis from your GP, which will require that you track your symptoms for three months. Feel free to reach out to me if you or someone you love is suffering.

If you’re thinking about having RTT or training to become a therapist, I simply cannot recommend it enough. It will change your life in ways you can’t even imagine now. As Marisa says, your potential expands as you move towards it. I am forever grateful to have been transformed through RTT myself and to now be helping others transform too.

Thank you so much Natalie for sharing your incredible experience with us. It is remarkable to know how powerful RTT is and the difference it is making in people’s lives.

RTT Comes to Life: Louise Hateley https://marisapeer.com/rtt-comes-to-life-louise-hateley/ Fri, 10 Jan 2020 15:25:19 +0000 https://marisapeer.com/?p=37686 Louise Hateley is a Rapid Transformational Therapy™ (RTT™) Practitioner from the UK, working with clients all over the world. Louise likes to work with female entrepreneurs who understand that they cannot create or manifest the future of their wildest dreams, with the mindset they have right now.

Louise said that “Before I had RTT, I had severe anxiety and depression. I was unable to actually enjoy life. I spent the majority of my life sleeping 14+ hours a day, just to cope with my daily struggle.”

In this honest interview, Louise shares more about how RTT has “not only saved and changed my life dramatically for the better, but it has also had a massive impact on my children’s life too. They have their mummy back.”

Please, can you briefly summarise your life before RTT, what were your biggest challenges? How did this impact your life and what was it costing you?

I was unable to enjoy life before I had RTT. I barely left my house or my room. I found it difficult to socialise, see friends and family. I really struggled to work on my business. It really impacted my life.

My life became an endless cycle of dread and it cost me a lot. I lost friends as they couldn’t understand my struggle. I lost family members. I struggled to spend time with my daughters. I also lost my self-respect and my relationship at the time also completely broke down.

How did you discover RTT and why did you decide to do it? How is RTT different from other approaches you have tried?

I discovered RTT over a year ago now through a friend who had a similar upbringing and issues to me. After speaking with her, I knew RTT was my last hope. I had tried so many things before…..meditation, general mindset work, affirmations, exercise, talk therapy, medication… The list goes on.

I had tried so, so many things over the last 30 years, which did not help. RTT is different from what I have tried in the past, as it gets to the root cause of your issues and resolves it in one session.

What was your experience of training in RTT?

I absolutely loved the online training modules for RTT. The information was so well put together and it has everything you need to learn how to provide Rapid Transformational Therapy to others.

How has your life changed now as a result of RTT?

What I most wanted from RTT was to get my life back. I just wanted to wake up in the morning with hope and joy and look forward to the day.

Thanks to RTT, I am so much happier, I found my purpose. I feel so fulfilled. Working with and helping others with their issues has been amazing. Seeing your clients get life-changing results in just one session has been phenomenal.

What has been your biggest impact with RTT? What are you most proud of? Is there a client story that brings this to life?

I worked with a client recently who was so anxious and depressed that she couldn’t leave her bedroom. She was also having up to 30 seizures a day. We worked to establish the root cause of her issues. After just one session with me, her seizures (which were unexplained medically by every doctor she saw) were dramatically reduced. In just 21 days of working together, she went from being severely anxious, depressed and suicidal every day to absolutely loving life. The highlight was when she sent me a photo of her and her husband enjoying life together by taking a cruise.

RTT has not only saved and changed my life dramatically for the better, but it has also had a massive impact on my children’s life too. They have their mummy back.

Thank you Louise for sharing your personal story with us, so that others can benefit from your experience and to see what is absolutely possible with RTT.

RTT Comes to Life: Esther shares how RTT creates ‘happy lives, without fear, doubts and self-sabotage.’ https://marisapeer.com/rtt-comes-to-life-esther-shares-how-rtt-creates-happy-lives-without-fear-doubts-and-self-sabotage/ Wed, 08 Jan 2020 10:17:13 +0000 https://marisapeer.com/?p=37662 Esther Zwaal Msc. is a power coach for strong women and corporate leaders. With 30 years of leadership experience in the corporate world, Esther says that she wants to empower her clients to create their own desired happy lives, without fear, doubts and self-sabotage. She also wrote a book about the secrets of Sparkling Women.

Esther is currently based in The Netherlands and says that she loves the opportunity RTT gives her to work online with international clients, who are ready to transform their lives.

We asked Esther to share a little more about her personal experiences with Rapid Transformational Therapy and the impact it has had on her and her client’s lives….

How has Rapid Transformational Therapy™ (RTT™) changed your life and why?

RTT has changed my life because I now know that something I dreamt about is achievable: rapid transformation is not magic but reality.

It changed my life because I now know how to transform and change people’s lives for the better, which is incredibly exciting. I am able to be a much better powercoach for leaders and sparkling women, because of the acceleration which RTT brings in the transformation.

I experienced the power of RTT myself to overcome my own struggles with destructive habits like nail biting, separation anxiety, and my previous fear of not being good enough. They disappeared in a blink of an eye and because of the phenomenal method of RTT, my ability to be valuable for my clients has grown immensely. I am able to help my clients in a much faster way than I could have ever imagined.

Please can you briefly summarise your life before RTT, what were your biggest challenges?

I worked for 15 years as a corporate leader and for the past 14 years I have had my own successful executive coaching company, in which I help leaders to have the most remarkable results with their team. I also enjoy helping strong women create their own amazing life. I love helping people to get better in what they do and create better habits to realize that.

With my coaching the results were good BUT the results were not fast enough to my liking. I really needed a lot of sessions to get the results my clients wanted. That is no longer the case since I discovered RTT.

My biggest challenge in life was when my children, aged 13 and 14, left me to live 100 kilometers abroad with their father. My role as a mother was done and I did not see my children as often. I was a sparkling successful coach until that moment. When they left I was lost. It took me more than 2 years to get back on my feet again and to slowly start sparkling again. A couple of my much smaller challenges in my life were a burn out, an old habit of being defensive, and nail biting.

During my life I had several coaches, plus a mourning psychologist, and I read all the self-help books about loving the present life and changing habits. I spent thousands of euros trying to create my own fulfilling, peaceful and amazing life. It helped, but RTT is really the most powerful transformational method I know. I now use RTT to create the life I want and the life my clients want!

How did you discover RTT and why did you decide to do it? How is RTT different from other approaches you have tried?

I discovered RTT through a course on Rapid Transformational Hypnotherapy for Abundance, and was instantly convinced. I really felt that Marisa’s method was the method of the future: fast, simple and very effective.

Since I did the RTT live training, I am so excited to see that all my knowledge about the newest discoveries in brain science and quantum physics merge with RTT. For example, I really loved the discovery that we can build an antenna for the neurons in our brain, and that is exactly what we do with RTT. We make very strong and coherent new connections in our mind, which result in the desired behavior of our client. This creates a new reality for our client. This in combination with the use of hypnosis, in which we bring our brainwaves into a deeply relaxed state, is the basis of creating the lives you and I desire!

What was your experience of training in RTT?

My experience of training in RTT was amazing. All my knowledge of scientific discoveries about quantum physics and brain science merged with RTT.

I really had such amazing “AHA” moments during the RTT Live, in which I was able to deeply understand why RTT is so very successful in transforming ourselves and our clients.

I loved the way the training is organized. The dedicated groups which were put together at the start of the Live trainings are priceless. We still have contact and run an informal mastermind group. I also appreciate the online system. It really is a perfect system to help you, step by step, get better and better in the knowledge of RTT. It forms a great reference library after you passed your exam and the ongoing support and continual learning is great.

What did you most want to achieve from RTT? How has your life changed now as a result?

What I most wanted to achieve from RTT was to get more freedom to balance work and life. I wanted to work more from my home-office, instead of driving through the whole country to work in corporations. Since I returned from the RTT® Live In-Person training, the number of clients who come to see me at my home-office or by Zoom is rapidly growing. This means that my dream to work 60% from my home office and 40% in the corporations has come true, which means the world to me. I don’t have to stay nights away from home and still get to do the work I love!

I also wanted to achieve knowledge, confidence, and have the experience with the method of super fast transformation. My expectations about RTT have been exceeded. It is a very natural method and very easy to undergo. I love the possibility to get better in my competence in being an RTT therapist, due to the practice register, which is a safe place to put our learning into practice with each other and develop our skills even more.

I did change so many people’s lives as a coach. However, with RTT, I am able to change a lot more people than I had ever dreamed of, because of the speed of the transformation. This is an important life changer for me. I love to be of value to as many strong women and strong corporate leaders as I can. With RTT this is my new created reality.

What has been your biggest impact with RTT? What are you most proud of? Is there a client story that brings this to life?

I am most proud of the amazing results my clients easily achieve with RTT. A successful female entrepreneur and mother came to me because of her fear of mice. It was getting in her way more and more. She said that she had tried everything, but nothing helped. She could not run outside as long as she wanted, she could not watch movies when there were mice in it and she could not walk into her garage, due to her fear of mice. When she thought she heard or saw a mouse, she immediately started screaming, jumping and hiding. She had this fear for 32 years.

A week after our session and listening to the recording she was watching an animated movie together with her children. Suddenly her youngest said to her “Mum, don’t you see the mouse?!” “Yes”, she said “I see the mouse, but I am quite alright with it!” Her children could not believe what had happened. Usually she screamed and left the room. Her daughter asked her in wonder “Does it really help then?” It sure did. After two weeks of listening to her audio, she went for a run and finished it exactly how she planned, even though she had heard something that could have been mice! She is so thankful and so amazed that her fear of mice, which previously determined her life in a negative way, is gone in the blink of an eye. She loves her transformation and I am so proud of her AND of RTT.

Another client paid a fortune for their gym subscription and did not go. She wanted to go but did not. We did one session and after 2 weeks, she told me that she went 3 times a week during those last two weeks and she loved going. After 2 months she was still going and did not miss one single session. She also was so amazed by this change and could not express her gratitude enough. I could go on with these amazing examples…. There are too many to mention.

Anything else you would like to share?

I love transforming leaders and strong women into the powerful creators of their own life. I know from my own experience what life is like when you feel powerless in one or more areas of your life, due to fears, anxiety and self-doubt. I know exactly what it takes for you to feel beautiful, confident and to sparkle in your own self-created life!

Thank you Esther for sharing your real-life experience with us and what RTT has empowered you and your clients to do.

RTT Comes to Life: Els Bosma https://marisapeer.com/rtt-comes-to-life-els-bosma/ Thu, 02 Jan 2020 11:07:54 +0000 https://marisapeer.com/?p=37648 Els Bosma is a certified Rapid Transformational therapist (RTT) & hypnotherapist who started her working life as a tropical marine biologist, working for the United Nations in central Africa. Returning after 5 years, she started a completely new career in Scientific Publishing in the UK and the US.

Once returning to the Netherlands, Els says that she tried several jobs and interim assignments until she discovered Rapid Transformational Therapy™. She says “The road was clear for me from that moment onwards: what RTT gave me, I can give to others in return: freedom from pain and limiting beliefs.”

Els says “Please know that there is no anxiety that is too great, no phobia that is too strange and no limiting belief about yourself that is too controlling, with RTT the life you want is available for you too!”

In this inspiring interview, Els shares more of her experience of how RTT transformed her life, and now she uses it to help others too…

How has Rapid Transformational Therapy™ (RTT™) changed your life and why?

I can’t even begin to describe how RTT has changed my life. Before I discovered RTT, I walked around in life with my ‘soul under my arm’. This is an expression for when you don’t know what to do with yourself. Even though I couldn’t see exactly what was wrong, I knew that something wasn’t quite right.

When I discovered RTT my world did a massive 180 degree turnaround. So much so, that I made RTT the driving force of my working life. I thought, if it benefits me so much, I just have to share it with all who need (and want) it too.

Please can you briefly summarise your life before RTT, what were your biggest challenges?

Before RTT my life was work work work. I was a successful manager in the international corporate world. I worked from 7 to 7 and honestly enjoyed it, until I had a burnout. I recovered quite quickly and was proud to be back at work. However, I strangely never reached that same level of confidence, or that same joy in work. Therefore I lost my joy in life. If you work from 7 till 7 everyday, and you don’t enjoy yourself, you really don’t enjoy life anymore.

I didn’t recognize the woman in the mirror anymore, I didn’t like or understand even my reactions to other people. Everything hurt, all remarks that normally would have made me laugh, now made me cry in pain. I quit my job, found a new one, had to quit that one too within 6 months, found a new one, had to quit that one too (yes, that was the third job I quit in less than 18 months), all due to the fact that I couldn’t be myself anymore, the way I used to be.

How did you discover RTT and why did you decide to do it? How is RTT different from other approaches you have tried?

A friend of mine looked so happy, so satisfied with her life, even though if you looked from the outside, she had quite a few reasons not to be happy. However, she lived the life she wanted and didn’t let outside opinions bother her, she took life in her own hands. That appealed to me and I asked her where this came from. RTT was her answer. She had started the online RTT course.

I looked into RTT and Marisa Peer, and was drawn to the relative simplicity of the approach, while it got such massive results. The more I followed Marisa Peer, the more I noticed I started to look at life differently. What surprised me most was the speed in which this works.

For me, talk therapy had been a long road, with a lot of soul searching, and in the end I never did get the full solution from it. With RTT I discovered the short road with instant understanding where my pain and loss of confidence had come from and once you know, you can never go back! (that is a phrase I use every day with my current customers now, because that’s how it felt to me then!)

What was your experience of training in Rapid Transformational Therapy (RTT)?

The RTT training itself was like the therapy: fast and effective! It gave me an instant link to a supportive community of which I’m so grateful to be part of now. I can’t imagine not having my RTT family anymore. I’m part of the RTT Forum, RTT Alumni, RTT Werkgroep (Dutch RTT FB group) and every month I’m organizing a monthly Zoom session with all the Dutch RTT therapists to discuss our road to becoming a successful RTT therapist.

What did you most want to achieve from RTT?

Very simple (yet also hugely complicated): a new life!

How has your life changed now as a result of RTT?

My confidence is fully back. If I’m in pain or feel a blockage in my life, I now have this amazing tool to discover where it comes from, how to overwrite it, and to overcome it. Thanks to RTT, I lead my life the way I want to, the way I really feel I can have purpose and meaning in my life, (not just purpose and meaning for a multinational company.) Everytime I meet new people (and when I talk to old friends who tell me new pains that they have) I immediately think, I can help you with that. The beauty is, that most do come to me for help, and those who don’t? Well, they will slowly be ready for it too one day, then I’ll be waiting for them with open arms.

What has been your biggest impact with RTT? What are you most proud of? Is there a client story that brings this to life?

Quite a lot of people who know me (either friends from my old life, or friends/colleagues from my new life) do come to me to get RTT therapy. The one I’m most proud of, is the therapy session I had with the son of another RTT therapist. She asked me if I could help him with his panic attacks. This was linked to a history of bullying as a young child at school. It took one session, and he was one of those clients that had an instant result: the moment he got out of the chair he felt that he would never ever have these panic attacks again. His mother (the RTT therapist) called me up crying and said “I have my son back.”

Anything else you would like to share?

I think I can speak for all of us new RTT therapists, when I say that we feel we got something that is going to be life-changing for the future generations. As we spread the good work, get the fast results, people will be drawn more and more to the massive possibilities that RTT is giving human kind. Our mind works in amazing ways. Currently the general thinking is still: first medication then (maybe) therapy. However, I strongly believe that this will change and possibly sooner than we think!
